September 2007:

Author Solutions acquires iUniverse to expand offerings and provide authors more publishing options. Author Solutions launches Wordclay, an online DIY publishing tool.

August 2007:

AuthorHouse publishes Carol Whang Schutter's September Dawn, based on the feature film of the same title.

January 2007:

AuthorHouse celebrates ten years in the publishing business; Bertram Capital, a private equity firm based in Palo Alto, Calif., acquires Author Solutions, the holding company for AuthorHouse.

December 2006:

Five million books printed to date. Full-color publishing  minimum page count eliminated, full-color printing costs are reduced by 20%. Three new cover design services introduced.

April 2006:

Company launches improved version of the online bookstore. System allows book buyers to use an enhanced search feature.

December 2005:

Indiana Chamber nominates AuthorHouse for the Small Business of the Year Award.

September 2005:

AuthorHouse wins the Silver Award for Business Excellence from BKD.

July 2005:

AuthorHouse introduces Rapid Release, a 30-day publishing process.

December 2004:

More than three million books printed to date.

May 2004:

AuthorHouse opens an office in the United Kingdom to serve European authors.

March 2004:

Name changes to AuthorHouse to reaffirm company's mission.

February 2004:

Returnability program begins; booksellers now able to return unsold books.

January 2004:

Two million books printed to date and 18,500 authors in the AuthorHouse family.

December 2003:

AuthorHouse publishes their 20,000th title. Full-color book publishing becomes available.

May 2003: 

Move to new, larger facilities to accommodate growth.

October 2002:

Partnership with Gazelle TechVentures and Johnson Ventures established.

December 2001:

Total books printed and sold reaches 350,000.

January 1999:

First paperback and hardcover books are published using print-on-demand (POD)technology.

June 1997:

First title becomes published as an e-book.

January 1997:

AuthorHouse founded (as 1stBooks) by an aspiring author.
