US-based Publisher Opens UK Office: Milton Keynes is the new home of AuthorHouse
On 17th May, AuthorHouse, the leading provider of publishing services for authors, announced from its headquarters in Bloomington, Indiana, that it has opened an office in the UK . From its base in Milton Keynes, AuthorHouse will serve writers in England, Scotland, Ireland, Europe and Asia .
"Writers who have been searching for alternatives to mainstream publishing are sure to find the AuthorHouse method appealing," said the company's president, Robert McCormack.
"We offer authors a way forward by allowing them to publish their works themselves. Authors are allocated their own personal author advisers, who will then get to know them and understand their publishing ambitions. AuthorHouse advisers are serious about writing and publishing, and act as the author's guide at every stage of the publishing process, from submitting the manuscript to using powerful marketing tools for the promotion of the book."
UK authors choose AuthorHouse
A number of well-known authors have already chosen AuthorHouse as their publisher. Diana Gooden-Husbands, who lives in Hampshire, and whose novel Shoy was recently published by AuthorHouse, says:
"You just can't imagine how I felt when my book arrived by post - it was total euphoria! You don't ever dream you're going to see your work in print; to actually have it happen is absolutely out of this world."
Bestselling author Luke Rhinehart, known for his 1970s cult classic Dice Man , explains:
"AuthorHouse provided me at a small cost a fast and convenient means to make two out-of-print novels of mine available to readers in both the US and the UK . I retain all rights to my work and can still exercise my option for deals on movies or with a traditional publisher. Mr. Rhinehart published White Rain, Black Rider and Whim with AuthorHouse .
Authors are in control
Mr. McCormack continued by explaining that AuthorHouse provides a comprehensive range of publishing, bookselling and promotional services, including design, production, distribution and marketing. AuthorHouse authors retain the rights to their books and exercise control over design and production decisions. They also determine how many copies of their books are printed, when they are printed, and how much royalty they take. Every book receives worldwide distribution via Bertrams, Gardners, Nielsen BookData and Ingram (based in the US ), through major US and UK Internet and traditional booksellers and at the AuthorHouse online store, www.authorhouse.co.uk .
Books are printed using the latest Print on Demand [POD] technology offering by Lightning Source UK . Because POD books are generated one at a time, they neatly sidestep the high costs traditionally associated with bringing new books to the marketplace.
