Nini Atlas, Israel as a child, she was draw to all forms of art and eventually studied 20th century art. Also a music lover, Nini continues to sing, play the guitar and compose songs. For the past 20 years, Nini has brought her love of art to the home with a career as an interior designer.
Together with her husband, Urial, they raised two wonderful children, Ayelet and Ofer. As her children explored their world, she captured their inquisitive personalities on paper. Although those scribbled notes were crumpled and cast aside and Nini juggled her busy life, Urial stumbled upon these treasures one day and began collecting them; carefully transcribing them one by one into a notebook. People asked Urial to publish the collection, but Nini refused, saying "these scribbles are a family matter."
Then she met Miri and her drawings - and loved what she saw. One day, Nini asked Miri to illustrate one of her 'scribbles.' At first, Miri drew lovely, pink-cheeked children...a site that was far away from the illustrations Nini had envisioned for her songs. So Miri said, "you tell me what you imagined when you wrote this, and I will illustrate that." Slowly, with lots of patience and even more talent, Miri brought Nini's imagination to life. From scribbles to this published book, our 'family matters' are now yours to enjoy as well.
Con sider this poem about imaginary monsters at bedtime:
My room is so scary
when it’s time to sleep.
I imagine the monsters
awake at my feet.
But then I wonder
if it’s them who are afraid,
when a Superhero like me
gets in their way.
Suddenly I feel much better
and it’s not such a fright.
Because I’m strong and brave
So monsters, I say …
GOOD NIGHT!
