Dr. Harold W. Wilcox, the eldest of seven brothers and sisters, a true Renaissance man, was born to Florine Collins and Andrew Lewis in Bay City, Texas. He grew up fighting the elements of poverty. He attended Ball High School where he was a center on the football team. At the age of sixteen, while attending Bible Days Revival Church, under the Apostle E. W. Wilcot, he was called to the ministry.
He left Galveston to further his education at Paul Quinn College, in Waco, Texas where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a minor in English and History. During those times he joined the Church of Christ. He got involved in many community endeavors, and participated in the United Negro College Fund as a coordinator, church youth director and assistant pastor.
After earning his degree at Paul Quinn he became an apartment manager with the Sovereign Management Company, while attending night classes for Psychology and Counseling, at Prairie View A&M. He later returned to Galveston as manager of the energy and conservation weatherization program for the Gulf Coast Community Witness Counsel. He was an inspector for the USDA.
He served as pastor at the True Honor Baptist Church in Clute, Texas from 1979 to 1982. In 1982, he organized the Greater Progressive Baptist Church in Lake Jackson, Texas. This church was reorganized in Houston, Texas at 9847 Mesa Drive where he remains the pastor.
Through his career, Wilcox has served the community in a number of ways; he was a counselor for the Bread of Love Outreach Ministry and the Chief Administrator of the Prepared Table Charter School.
He has received the following certificates: Licensed Master Social Worker, advanced practitioner, as a certified diplomat, and state administrator, licensed in child care, NATAC, CPAC. He served on the National Board of Addictive Counseling, and he received his Masters and Doctorate Degrees from LaSalle University.
He is a member of the Mayors Ministerial Alliance, the United Progressive Churches of America, the Metropolitan Organization, and he is an ex-board member of Prepared Table Charter School. He founded the Bread of Love Outreach Ministry, which serves more than 5,000 meals.
Being an advocate for education and success of all people, he organized the Prepared Table Charter Schools, Double Portion Development Corporation, the House of Mansions, My Cup Runneth Over, and the Florida Stoot Hall of Fame Center. Wilcox’s Prepared Table Charter School has surpassed many. The school has had a dramatically positive impact upon the community in just three years. It is the largest charter school in the state of Texas, educating more than 1500 students.
This bright visionary thanks God for his wisdom, his passion and love for children, the elderly, and all the people of the world. Dr. Wilcox is a true entrepreneur, writer, vocalist, humanitarian, and freedom activist, who believe in working for people!
He is married to Louvicy Marie, and they are rearing several stepchildren, and five grandchildren.
About The School:
In March of 1999, Prepared Table Charter School was granted a charter by the Texas Education Agency to operate as an Open Enrollment Charter School in Northeast Houston.
Prepared Table Charter School was approved to serve 1080 students in its first year. The school opened September 4, 1999 with an enrollment of 1300 students. It was also approved to serve North Forest ISD, Sheldon ISD, Galena Park ISD, Channelview ISD, and Aldine ISD.
The Board of Directors of PTCS hired Harold W. Wilcox, Ph.D. as the Administrator, and Rose Marie Wayne as Dean of Instructions. Dr. Wilcox has over thirty years of Business and Religious experience while Ms. Wayne has over ten years educational experience.
Prepared Table has been the largest Charter School in Texas for three consecutive years. PTCS has become a force in Northeast Houston, East, and North Houston. There are three campuses with 168 employees and 1200 students. Prepared Table Charter School has graduated approximately seventy-five students.

This book gives each child the opportunity to express him/herself through poetry. "Me and My Children" is a personal book, in that it allows children who have kept silent about many issues within their lives to express those issues in their own way.
We must discover the better one within. Parents, Teachers, Schools, Governments, and Nations, must constantly create an environment of learning and discovery for our children. The spirit of excellence must be nurtured and developed. We must allow students to get the best experiences live has to offer.
There are so many negative elements in our society that target the very young. While we have this opportunity to instill positive values within them, we must embrace, teach, direct and love them. Many of our children are suffering from a cycle of broken family ties; no father, mother, or other siblings to identify with or learn from. We must use every resource we have available to ensure a well-rounded cycle of success for each child.
Throughout history, Poets have taken the led in striving to advance changes in values, perspectives, and consciousness within cultures and Nations. Continuously, they made efforts to explore the links between creative expression and the development of MAN: believing always the "He who stops being better, stops being good.

The Value of Poetry in the School System
It is important schools develop ‘poetry-writing’ programs to help the growing generations to learn to express themselves in clear, concise, powerful language. Poetry is the fuel that makes language and is therefore necessary to every society.
Poetry is a tool that inspires individuals and nations: and school programs can be used to develop highly literate populations with great enlightenment to preserve and enhance cultures. Poetry is a tremendous asset to life. It sheds light on the social and educational development of a society. It brings passion to language and self-worth to a people, exploring the depths of experiences.
Poetry exists on the frontiers of language to affect ideas and behavior, dealing with social struggles to give clarity and meaning to human life. Poetry expands vision and imagination, and is the guardian of our social richness. To live without poetry, is to live without the spiritual fire of life.
Poets are the chief agents of social change! Poetry should be a major part of the teaching experience because of the quality of language and expressions it affords students. Language cannot be separated form moral and emotional life. It must be used to quicken and excite the minds of readers, and enhance society with the vital resources contained in poetry.
I believe that "Tomorrow" is the reason we came: that we may right the wrongs we met, and leave positive impressions upon Time, creating a better world for generations to come.
