Jeff Harris
If you feel like you have reached the end of your rope in your marriage and just can't take it
anymore, then this book is for you. It began as a cathartic self-help journal written by the author,
Jeff Harris, while he suffered the overwhelming pain of his separation and divorce. Jeff
discovered first hand, that even as a Christian, the pain, disparity and loneliness associated with
divorce is capable of pushing anyone to their breaking point. As Jeff struggled to find his way, he
allowed God to use his personal turmoil as a lesson that would catapult him onto an exciting life
changing journey.
This book is written in everyday language, as if the author is talking to a close friend. It is the
real life account of his struggles, challenges and spiritual growth during this difficult time in his
life.
If you have ever thought or spoken the words, "God I can't take it any more", you will find
this book inspiring and comforting—possibly putting you on a course that will change your life.
Jeff Harris is a leader of the Separated Men's Group in one of the largest churches in
America: Saddleback Valley Community Church in Lake Forest, California. He is Director of
Internet Sales & Marketing for a world-renowned artist, business owner, musician, basketball
coach, and holds a BSEE degree in Electronics Engineering. From the age of 12 he began
praying with his mother to someday have a loving wife and family. After 16 difficult years of
marriage, he found himself in the middle of a divorce that he didn't want. Jeff writes from
experience fueled by strong inspiration from God and the desire to encourage those that are
suffering through this painful life crisis.
This book was written for the sole purpose of helping others who are suffering through
marital separation or are in the process of going through an unwanted divorce. I believe marriages
should last a lifetime and be saved at all costs. I will share many of my personal experiences--
good and bad--with the hope that others will learn from my mistakes. My hope is that others will
deal with their marital problems and challenges the way God intended, as it is written in the
Bible. I am not a Pastor, nor do I have a formal education in theology. I'm just a normal sinner
saved by grace who wants more than anything to save my marriage and others if I can.
Even as a Christian, the divorce process was one of the most painful experiences I have ever
had to endure. The pain of divorce and separation is extremely intense. I have seen many
Christians, including myself, on the brink of suicide, expressing harmful intentions, suffering
severe depression and facing many other adversities that could potentially ruin their lives. I have
fought through considerable pain and difficulties making many mistakes, but eventually learned
the hard way. As of the day that I am writing this book, I am still waiting for God to answer my
prayer: Lord put my family back together and restore my marriage to your standards of what a
Godly marriage should be, what you intended for it to be.
If by sharing my experiences, joys, struggles, revelations, pains, discoveries and opinions, I
am able to help save one marriage; my efforts will not have been in vain.
