LITTLE NOTES on taking the next step: A primer on Not
Really retiring focuses on motivating and inspiring, what the
author has coined, the TEAR Group©—Transitioning Early-Aged
Retirement Group. It is the third book in the LITTLE NOTES
series. Not intended for the permanent retiree, this book benefits
those transitioning from full careers, into early-aged retirement
and starting anew—ready to take the next step—often with their
eyes set on new career opportunities. It presents a collection of
sound bites from experiences, observations, and dialogue that did
or didn't work and what should and shouldn't be done. It is a
light but thought-provoking resource for those seeking a comfort
level in transitioning to retirement, in searching for the pursuit of
a new beginning, turning hobby into vocation, and making
dreams reality. Each chapter (some longer than others—none
very long—but all intended to linger on the mind) launches the
reader into everlasting thought and never-ending appreciation
and contemplation of each beginning day of the rest of their life.
LITTLE NOTES on taking the next step: a primer on Not
Really retiring is the perfect solution for colleagues, family, and
friends in search of the ideal retirement gift.
Frank Little retired from the United States Navy as an Executive
Health Care Administrator. He authored his first books of quotes
to document those things that profoundly affected his life and
development as a business executive. His acronym, JITHSO©
(Just-In-Time-Hind-Sight-Observations), describes the essence
of his quotes. His first book, Little Notes from the office and his
second, More Little Notes: on management, motivation, and
living, are collections of whimsical, thought-provoking quotes
gleaned from his experiences in the business world. He holds a
Master of Science degree in Healthcare Administration, and a
Master of Social Work degree. A Senior Health Policy Analyst
and administrative management consultant, Frank Little is
sought after as a lecturer and motivational speaker on personal
development and leadership.
CHOICES! CHOICES! CHOICES!
You must first be clear on what retirement means to you. But
operationalizing the R word is easier said than done. Once
determined—stigmas dropped and actualization in place—and
with a little being-in-the-right-place-at-the-right-time, all else
will come together.
Then you move on and conduct yourself accordingly.
You shouldn't be making all the choices...
But that choice should be yours.
~~
It's okay to step out of your comfort zone.
But do it comfortably... one step at a time.
Running your own business
ain't all it's cracked up to be.
Making it successful is.
~~
Learning to spell Entrepreneur
is testimony of the headaches to come.
But once you've got it... you got it.
