About the Book

This is the first edition of this book on designing the new cutting tools, dies and different mechanisms.

The book was written with two goals in mind:

    1. Describe the basic concepts and drawings of innovations which concern to the manufacturing and mechanical engineering field;
    2. Provide some useful reference information for the designers and researchers with the possibility further to commercialize these innovations in industry.

This book gives a brief review of inventions with special attention to the advanced machining technology for application and further experimental-research works in the different manufacturing processes for the twenty-first century.

Specifically, there are four types of inventions discussed here:

Environmental, safety of flying, advanced machining processes and cutting tools, and the efficiency of some machines and mechanisms is also discussed.

In addition, this book indicates basic design and research activities of author in period of 1990 to 2001 in the United States of America.

About the Author

As a creative personality, independent scientist and inventor, Anatoly I. Rozenblat received a fundamental technical and art education in marine (mechanical) and manufacturing engineering, applied mathematics and patent affairs.

He completed studies at Odessa of Marine Engineers in 1967, the Polytechnic Institute 1973, Odessa Mechnikova State University in 1988 and Odessa and Moscow Patents Institutes in 1983 and 1986 respectively.

The studies provided the basis of his successful scientific and research activity, particularly in engineering and innovation. He has published more than fifty scientific articles, five books of technical literature, and has thirty inventions.

Born on 25 August 1938 in Russia and later at the beginning 1989 he immigrated to the United States. The participation in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers gave to him possibility to design nineteen original new technical innovations that were described by NCIO in the newsletter, America’s Inventor, in the article entitled " Inventor from Russia Brings the New Technologies to US ".

He was invited to 26th, 27th, and 28th Israel Conference on Mechanical Engineering for presentation six scientific papers that held respectively in 1996, 1998, and 2000.

He has also received the numerous awards from International Biographical Center ((England), American Biographical Center and Marquis’ Who’s Who.

Now, he continues his professional career in Kennedy-Western University in the doctoral program in general engineering for a Ph.D. degree.

(54) (57) A TOOL CLEANING DEVICE which comprises a chip cleaning device made in the form of a spring actuated bar installed with the possibility of reciprocating motion. The device is distinguished by the fact that in order to increase efficiency of cleaning the tool, it is equipped with second bar installed with the possibility of reciprocating motion oppositely to the first, made identically and connected with the first bar. In addition, the bars, having with channels made additionally in them and designed for supplying compressed air to the cleaning zone, are installed over faces of the tool which also have additionally made channels, with an entry to the face surfaces of the tool and with an exit into the chip groove of the tool .

The invention is related to mechanical processing, namely to cutting billets of predominantly cold rolled products, particularly in operation on milling cutting-off machines.

A tool cleaning device is known which comprises a chip cleaning device made in the form of a spring actuated bar installed with the possibility of reciprocating motion (1).

The fault of the known device consists in impossibility of using the said design for cleaning chips from chip grooves of a tool at mechanical cutting of cold rolled products with circular saws.
