Claire K. Connelly
Harley is a motorcycle riding; jet-skiing;
water-skiing; fishing; co-piloting Irish setter, who dreams about having his
OWN plane and who calls himself a “French Sitter”. He travels to France several times a year in his “condo” (really
his cage).
The love of his life is Mona, who lives in the
Louvre Museum in Paris.
Harley dreams of his own “motorcyclette” (French for
motorcycle) with sidecar – to share with his best dog friend, “Goober-Dog” and
Mona.
Harley’s birthday is coming! Share his thoughts every day about what he
wants his birthday to be – and share his dreams and see if they become “real”!!
The author lives in North Carolina. This is her first children’s book. In the past she has written a column – “Or
One View Of It” – and numerous articles about the comedic side of everyday
life. Inspired by a “real” Harley-Dog,
she felt he must be shared with as many children as possible.
She is looking forward to writing about more
adventures with Harley.

Pėre rides a Harley! When he’s not flying a plane, he’s on his Harley bike. Unless he’s going on a long bike trip with
his friends, he takes me with him.
I love the wind in my ears and all the attention I
get when we pass cars. That’s when I
really have att-a-tude!
What I DON’T like is being tied onto pėre’s
Harley with a bungee cord!!!!! I think
it takes away from my good looks!
Someday I want my own Harley, where I’m in
control. Then I’ll get a new Harley
hat. The one I wear now is NOT my
choice. Mėre got it for me. It’s too small! I beg her not to make me wear it, but she insists. Sometimes she lets me wear my goggles instead,
but on long rides I have to wear the Harley hat!!! It flattens my beautiful ears!
It’s just too small!!
We ride on big busy highways and on little country
roads, even on dirt roads sometimes.
I get more attention on the big highways. People are just not used to seeing a big red
dog sitting on the back of a motorcycle with a hat and goggles on!
