About the Author
Terrill Willson, author of “Dream Travel” and “How I Learned Soul Travel”, held no interest in metaphysics while growing up. Not until adulthood did he learn about bilocation, from reading a book. Techniques described in that book soon helped Willson gain proof. It is possible for people to consciously leave their physical bodies. Nonphysical worlds do exist and can be visited before death.

Borrowing from his own soul-travel and dream-travel adventures, Willson tells a provocative story about life beyond the physical realm.

INNER WORLDS

Think of a clothed inner body of the same shape and appearance as a physical person, able to see and hear in this physical environment without being visible to human eyes. Most people can imagine out-of-body travel here on Earth, if not believe. Stories of Jesus and others come to mind.

But try to picture nonphysical worlds. These seem fairy-tale to people. Do they really exist? How can they be solid?

A common expectation for beginning soul-travelers is that OOBE's will occur on Earth. Because the physical plane is the lowest among the living worlds, the Earth environment should be a training ground for soul travel. But from what I have found, this is not the case. Most of my OOBE's end up in nonphysical worlds. Inner planes seem to be a more natural habitat for inner bodies to visit. Once in a while I find myself out of body on Earth, but seldom.

Where then are the inner worlds? Where are they located in relation to this Earth world, and what do they look like? What is in them? Are they really solid?

When I first began reading about soul travel, inner worlds, and related spiritual topics, I assumed that the astral plane set on top of the physical plane. The physical world is said to be the lowest of all worlds so the astral plane must be suspended above the physical. Likewise for the causal plane, it must set atop the astral plane. On top of the causal plane must be the mental plane. These are described as the principal planes of existence within the realm of time, space, and matter that soul-travelers can visit and verify.

Slow or rapid movements out of and back into my physical body is how my early OOBE's often started and ended, which gave me a sense of distance. Gliding weightlessly through darkness from one location to another is what it felt like. The physical world and the inner planes seemed to be a distance apart. This fit my idea of what soul travel should be like.

Later my OOBE's began to change. More and more of my projections occurred instantaneously, and my returns the same. Experiences like these did not seem like soul travel afterward; they seemed dreamlike. How can a body move from one location to another without crossing a distance?

More clues were to follow. It happened from time to time, while in bed contemplating or after returning from an OOBE, that I could feel a person touching me (I was sleeping alone). Sometimes during contemplation or at the moment of slipping into sleep I became conscious of hands touching my inner body, perhaps even helping to pull my inner body slowly and gently out of my physical self. Other times after returning from an OOBE I lay motionless and could still feel the touch of a person I had been with moments earlier in some inner world.
