Three weeks before the arrival of the Earthmen the Martians congregate to discuss all that must be completed before the new Martians arrive. During this meeting a Martian addresses the others stating, “I am not sure if you all realize this, but what we have achieved is a phenomenon. Okay, yes we did cultivate Mars! However this is not what I find to be phenomenal. We all shared a common bond, this bond made us closer, our respect for each other made us friends, and out of this respect came peace. We have a peaceful society! Those people on Earth could never understand how we cohabit. They were not here when we had no light and formed alliances ignorant of race, color, and religion.” “When they come here, they will bring with them their ignorance, their airs of superiority over others, and all the other negative conceptions that plague Earth. We must not let them alter our society, our way of life! I suggest that we call down to Earth and let them know that they must find somewhere else for those people. We will just have to explain our position to them.”
So the Martians will call to Earth and explain their position to them. Earth of course will be displeased with this pose. The governments in turn will threaten to cease the provision of resources to Mars. The Martians reply, “keep your resources, your threat only fortifies our stance, your resources will only remind us of your ignorance and cruelty!”
