This is a story about relationships, those of sisters, friends, lovers, husbands and wives, and especially that of a mother and child. The things that happen when the bond between a mother and daughter are broken and the wonderful reunion when God puts it all back together. The main characters in this story Monette, Tutt and Maxine go on paths that many have taken, but love is the bond that keeps them together. And when The Lord steps into their midst the changes and the challenges grow and they along with them. I pray this book be a blessing to all that take the time to experience it.
Carmella Vaughters is a very talented writer. She has a way of weaving a story that just draws you right into it. Her ability to create characters so alive and vibrant give her writing that essential touch of realism. She’s written poetry, plays and numerous short stories. She’s an accomplished lyricist.
Suddenly, Monette Sweet found herself falling down a dark tunnel. No matter how hard she tried she couldn’t stop herself. Fear gripped her soul! Then, there was an eerie light. Flames shooting up at her! Her clothes started to smolder. She could smell the stench of scorched flesh- her own! There were hideous looking things that kept reaching out trying to grab hold of her.
“Stop it! Leave me alone! Get off me, get off of me, let go!” She screamed!
“Who’s gonna help you now!” They mocked her.
The demons taunted her. “Call for your Mama like you always do!”
Crushed, the man walked the floor all night long, weeping and crying out to the Lord, asking why things were happening in his life like they were and when was He going to move in his circumstance! Finally, ending up lying prostrate on the floor exhausted, he realized he’d been doubting Jesus in his heart! Repenting, sleep finally came. But just before he drifted off, in his spirit he heard one word. “Wait!”
If she’d only known God’s Hand was upon her as she drove around in a rush trying to get all the little mundane things she had to do that morning out of the way. She so desperately wanted the surprise she’d planned for her friends to come off without a hitch. But, really the surprise was on her. The choices she had made for her friends and business partners would have a snowball effect changing countless lives! She drove hurriedly to the airport to retrieve her friends unaware that life as she knew it was about to change!
A lot of folk were getting ready to understand the full meaning of the scripture “The effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much..”Prayers that had been prayed ions ago were about to be answered!
