Roy Ryan Illustrated by Jan York
Imagine surviving as the smallest and weakest of a RED DOZEN! The Big Angel gave me the name Bonkers! Name? What's in a name! Let me tell you how I got my name.
Ryan was born in a small town in northwest Montana. He spent many summers at his grandfather's farm in North Dakota. From these experiences he developed a deep love for animals. Roy attended college and became an elementary school teacher. His last ten years and most rewarding years of his teaching career were spent teaching kindergarten in a small town in Oregon. While teaching he became interested in writing a book that would appeal to children of all ages. Roy wrote this story to show children the many ways in which animals can enrich our lives. Especially BONKERS!
