Two short stories about three loveable donkeys, Honkey, Tonkey and Stripy.
Honkey decides to escape from the field and find adventure. Does Bill get to him before he causes any damage?
The donkeys love to go for a paddle in the sea. The visit had to be cut short because Honkey wasn’t feeling too well. Does the vet find out the problem?
I was born on 1St May 1968 in Hull, East Yorkshire. I lived in a terraced house with my Mam, Eileen, Dad, Kenneth and two Sisters, Deborah and Gail.
In 1978 I got a mystery illness which caused me to loose my eye sight. In 1979 I went to a boarding school for the blind which is in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
I left school and went on to do different things. I went to Hull College to study English and creative writing.
I moved in to my own flat and really enjoyed living their.
I got married but it didn’t work out and we divorced 7 years later.
In 2001 I purchased a computer, it was the best thing I have ever done. I started to write short stories seriously in December 2004. I got inspired to write them by just chatting about beach donkeys with a couple of my friends, Stephen and Susan Pallett.
If it wasn’t for the computer I’m sure by now I’d have gone mad. So thanks to Chris and his wife Christine Cant who first gave me the encouragement on how to use the computer plus the screen reader. I now chat to many people on line and made lots of friends, thanks to all my cyber friends for just been on the other end of a microphone when ever I need a chat.
My two Sisters and Mam visit and are very supportive. I have 2 Nieces, Hayley Everett who is 16 and Emily Brewster who is 2.
In the future I hope to have more stories published so listen out for the hooves of Honkey, Tonkey and Stripy.
Honkey stood in the stable with Tonkey and Stripy, wondering what they would be doing today.
“Wish something exciting would happen, “he said as he started to drink the water from the large tub in the corner.
Tonkey looked at him and asked, “What do you want to happen?” He also was hoping something exciting would happen but not sure what.
The stable door was wide open and the sun shone brightly with a bit of a breeze blowing through.
“It’s going to be a hot day today,” Stripy said as he looked at the green grass outside the stable, and asked, “Are you two coming outside? It looks lovely and warm with a breeze; the trees are blowing a little bit.”
Tonkey joined Stripy but Honkey decided he’d stay inside out of the sun.
Tonkey stood looking about whilst Stripy had a trot about, running about like a youngster, he felt four years old again but he was really twenty four.
After they’d been out for a good thirty minutes they decided to go back in to the stable with Honkey.
“Oh I didn’t see Honkey go out, did you Stripy?” He said as he looked about the empty stable.
Stripy couldn’t see Honkey anywhere in the stable and said, “No, I didn’t see him go either. “We’d better just check the field and see if we can see him anywhere,” Stripy said as he walked towards the door.
They both looked around the field and couldn’t see Honkey anywhere. Then Stripy saw something. “Look Tonkey!” He said as he looked at the big hole in the fence. “I bet he’s squeezed through and decided to find adventure.”
