The Forgotten Family of Elvis Presley is based on the life of Elvis' aunt Lois Smith and Uncle Johnnie Smith ( Brother of Gladys Presley ). In a book written " Elvis A-Z " the author has stated that Johnnie was never married. My friends in this book you will meet the wife and five children of Johnnie Smith.

Rob Hines of Indiana and Lois Smith of Memphis Tn. met in 2004 during Elvis Week, Rob, an entertainment manager/agent had book an Elvis tribute artist to perform concerts. Rob and Lois met during one of the shows at Graceland and became friends. In 2005 after Elvis week, Rob and Lois teamed up to write "The Forgotten Family of Elvis"
On February 6,1942 I was kidnaped and
Forced into a truck with Johnnie Smith.
I was yelling and screaming,
"Let me go, I don’t want to go anyplace with you." The louder I would yell, the faster they would drive while holding onto me. "What is going on Johnnie" I asked? But he wouldn’t answer me.
We ended up at a house I didn’t know off of a gravel road. Johnnie got out but I refused.
He said, Now Lois, it’s not safe for you to be outside alone it’s dark. Come on inside and then I will take you home. I was scared and didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to stay outside alone, so I went along with Johnnie inside the house. I didn’t know what was about to take place. As, I entered the house,
I noticed the room was full of people, I thought, well it’s just a party. I found a seat and waited for Johnnie to take me home. All the time thinking and asking myself, why did he force me here, what is going on. Was I going to be raped? What reason did he have to force me to come with him?
