Prologue
Nigger Struck…… is a condition of the mind, resulting from the sway of the dominant culture (white supremacy). It affects all people regardless of race, sex, or age. White supremacy does not suggest that every white person plots to suppress non-whites. It is referred to as the white supremacy culture because it is controlled and maintained by members of the white race....
Why is it called Nigger Struck? And why should I read this book?
First, this book is intended for readers of all races and in no way suggests that any one group or culture be referred to as Niggers. Nigger Struck was not written to address just the N-word but rather every race issue. As a matter of fact, only one chapter throughout the entire book is dedicated to the N-word’s use. My objective is not to offend, but rather use the power of the N-word to strengthen my cause, as well as diffuse its bang and all the power that revolves around it. Although this book does not solely deal with the relevance or irrelevance of the N-word, it asks readers why they are so set on running away from the N-word and the many issues surrounding it. Is it the word or the people that should be checked? A word is nothing more than a collaboration of letters used to form an expression. How we take to such an expression has everything to do with us, not the word. Every reader, regardless of race, sex, age, or religion shall walk away more enlightened on the subject of race and better prepared and willing to deal with it instead of finding every reason to run away from it. How can we fix our face to say that we are lovers of freedom and equality, yet refuse to deal head-on with the issues that suggest the opposite?
