.......The problems are due to ignorance of legal and religious facts and of the related adoption problems.  A stigma of homicide has been attached to the termination of a foetus that surpasses normal concerns of the value of life, which disagrees with the Church’s view on the matter.

.......Almost every country of the world do not consider abortion as homicide and the Catholic Church itself does not consider abortion as a homicide, nor as a crime, but only as a sin (for Catholics only).  The problem of abortion (assisted miscarriage) can be reduced to a simple medical issue between a woman and her physician.

.......The results of abortion polls can be manipulated in many ways to give the desired answer.  More meaningful is the worldwide count of abortions.  This is surprisingly high and is estimated at over 125,000 per day i.e. 45 million per year (26 million legal abortions and 20 million where it is restricted or illegal).  Most abortions occur in developing countries (over 77 %).  In the United States, most are done before 12 weeks of pregnancy (89%), between 13-15 weeks (6%), between 16-20 weeks (4%) and after 20 weeks, 1%.

.......Abortion has become an issue where politicians must take a public stand for or against abortion.  Those who favour legal abortions have to say in the same breath that abortions are bad, to avoid losing the religious vote.  Others claim to be against abortion to get more votes.

Religious people forget that natural abortions (miscarriages) occur all the time.  If nature does it, can it be so wrong?

The problem can be examined under three angles:

1)                The Legal Aspect,

2)                The Religious Aspect and

3)                The Moral Aspect –the value of life.
