About the Book

Giving From an Empty Well was born out of conversations with many people from all walks of life who, despite appearances of success and happiness, admitted to a sense of emptiness in their lives.

Using the analogy of the various aspects of a water well, its functions and purpose, Jeanie Brosius clearly shows how we unknowingly clog our natural free flow of joyous and creative energy by taking on attitudes, responsibilities and fears.

"This is not about taking one more class or seminar, finding one more lover or buying one more thing," Jeanie says. "It is about unclogging our own 'well-being' by releasing that which no longer serves. We are born with natural love, joy and creativity and somewhere along the way, we lose that sense of power. Together we will learn how to remove the pebbles and let our natural energy flow once more."

In Giving From an Empty Well,  it becomes clear how we buy into commonly held beliefs that we should take responsibility for everything and everybody - except our own happiness. These beliefs and actions do not fill us with joy and we feel empty and depleted. Simply put, our energy is diverted.  We experience a loss of power around issues such as personal relationships, health and money that we try to fill with more 'stuff.'  It is by releasing what we are not responsible for and letting go of  attitudes that clog our inner lives that we clear the channels and allow joy to fill us with a sense of 'well-being' once again.

Fact: Most people are trying to have, be and do too much.

Fiction: We can have it all, do it all, and be it all...all the time.

Truth: You are enough. And you can have anything you want.

You just cannot be, do or have everything all at one time. (So, relax)

The Well

Imagine a deep well nestled in a grove of trees. This well is sturdily made to stand the tests of time and to serve its purpose of providing clear and clean water. The bottom of the well reaches down into the green, grassy earth. Nearby trees and flowers bloom and thick hedges shelter rabbits, fox, squirrels and other small animals. Birds feed in wild cherry trees singing their lovely songs. Butterflies hover over brilliantly colored flowers as nearby cows chew their cuds and laze in the sunshine. The whole area is alive with life and activity.

A constant surge of fresh, clean water flows into the deep well, fed by a sparkling, clear stream that originates high in the mountains.

Dip your hand into the water and feel its icy, refreshing wetness. A simple tin cup sits on the edge of the well for travelers to drink their fill, placed by a loving keeper of the well who also attends to its continual flow by lifting wayward leaves from the water's surface, clearing away debris Everything functions at a serene and eternal level.

Now, imagine that every aspect of this well is you.

You are the water

You are the well

You are also the keeper of the well

In this analogy, your body is the well, the container for your spirit which is the flow of water and your mind which is the keeper of the well.

Many times we identify ourselves and others by the type of body we possess. We may see ourselves and others a member of a certain race or social class. We may look at ourselves and others in terms of education, interest, language, style, belief system or abilities. And while we each experience special attributes and interests, our true being is much more.

Although blessed with a body, we are not our body. Although we can think, we are not our mind. And although we express ourselves individually, we are not just spirit either. Instead we are the integrated whole as expressions of Source Energy. I happen to believe that we are expressions of a Creator (call it God, Source, Quantum Intelligence) and as such, creators of our lives.

In this book, Giving From an Empty Well, we will discover how we have created our lives with responsibilities, decisions, triumphs and challenges, that may make us feel empty and depleted. Since our natural state is one of free-flowing energy, joy and love, we will discovery simple ways to begin to let go and clear the clutter from the deepest parts of our 'well-being.'
