About the Book

Who speaks for the "Body of Christ" collectively (all born again believers--worldwide)? Many denominations and large bodies of believers or Christians (conventions), differ and disagree on many topics chosen for discussion in this book (women in the ministry, the bible, etc.). Who is correct? Who should one believe? God is not divided? The Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit work together harmoniously (as one)! Because of man’s/woman’s interpretation of scriptures, the "Body of Christ" (all born again believers), is divided.

We, "The Body of Christ", must harmonize our differences so that we may be able to work together harmoniously and bring in a great harvest. Many of the subjects of debate among born again believers can be "tabled" or set aside. The gospel (salvation) is very simple! (That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9) God did not complicate salvation! Jesus chose "unlearned" (by man’s standards) fisherman to spread the gospel story! Jesus the Christ can be accepted in the heart anywhere, any hour of the day or night!

This book is entitled "Hodge Podge" (mixture) because of the diverse topics chosen for discussion.

About the Author

God and church were the daily teaching in our home. School was important but was secondary to religion. I have all but lived in the organized church and have religiously studied The Bible a lifetime; however, through many trials and suffering, I have come to know God (Jesus) for myself...a personal relationship. I know, without a shadow of doubt, that God (Jesus and the Holy Spirit) lives and will lead, guide, protect, and provide for those who put their trust in Him. The books that God has ordained for me to write for him are revealed works.

My cup runneth over! Therefore, I have decided to empty it in the form of a book entitled Hodge Podge (mixture of topics). My entire life has been centered around the study of the Bible and the local church and now that I am "spiritually mature," I would like to write about topics of debate among the "Body of Christ" from a scriptural perspective.

Neither man nor woman are the authority on any subject, God is; therefore, God’s guidance and direction must be sought regarding our individual lives but we can share with others knowledge and experiences. There are no "yes or no or right or wrong" answers to any of the topics chosen for discussion. Also, this book is not written to persuade or influence because we all worship and believe differently. God is diverse! God chose to make us different. Just as flowers, we come in all colors, sizes, and shapes.

It is up to us as individuals to seek to know God. We can share, but why take another’s word when we have the privilege, each of us, of getting to know God personally? Many in the "Body of Christ" and the local church do not like change, and change is what caused the death of Jesus and many of his followers. Many have the "we never did it this way before" mentality; however, nothing remains stagnant (motionless).

To compete, fast-food chains are always adding new and improved items to their menu to attract customers and business people, and are always trying to find out what the public likes and dislikes and cater accordingly. Is the "Body of Christ" broadening its perspective in order to seek and to save the lost and to save our youth from destruction? We can’t teach unless we can draw.
