Gladys Brown Prince
Gladys believes that her book, “Poems from my heart to yours” will be like a healing stream, which catches the eyes of everyone who has love in the heart. Gladys was born to god-fearing parents, and reared at Lemon Hall, St. Catherine, Jamaica W.I. She taught elementary school for a while, then migrated to England to pursue a career in nursing, and did so successfully. She migrated to Canada and continued nursing. She is the mother of two sons, one daughter, and grandmother of six boys and two girls.
She is a people person, and ever will be. I guess that’s why she always has an interest in establishing relationships with people. She loves to speak to people’s hearts, and truly hopes that each poem she writes will personally speak to somebody’s heart in a very special way. She believes that people are the greatest commodity man will ever have in this life.
THE ROSE WITHOUT A THORN
When last upon a sunlit morn
Did you gaze on the flowerbed at dawn
And seeing a rose without a thorn
You wondered where the thorns have gone
The stem so smooth where green leaves shoot
Reminds us so much how nature is aloof.....
ATTITUDE
Attitude is everything they say
But what exactly does it convey
Is it the way you walk and sway
Or the way you feel certain time of the day
The way you attack your only prey
Or does it identify you on the way.....
LAUGHTER
To laugh is always such great fun
It relieves the soul the heart the lung
It is easy for others to join in the fun
And from frown and grouch they can run
Laughter comes spontaneously
And makes you happier instantly
Your desire for company simultaneously
The sad heart can become lively.....
