About the Book
This educational children's book, written for elementary school students, teaches a math concept in the form of a rhyming story.  Children help the main character, Mikey, and his brother, Frank, solve the mystery behind the door as they learn how to solve math functions.  Practice problems with an answer key are also included in the back of the book.
About the Author

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Michelle Marquis earned her bachelor's degree from Bryant University and taught at a private school in Massachusetts before beginning her career as a writer.  Although she taught various subjects, math and grammar were her primary interests, and her extra-curricular activities included serving as the Math Olympics Coach for students in third through eighth grade, as well as writing numerous plays for her middle school students to perform.

As a middle school teacher, Marquis noticed that many students found math to be very intimidating.  She made it her goal to try to make math fun so that her students would leave middle school feeling more comfortable, and hence, more confident in their math skills.  She felt that if this attitude could be instilled in students at the elementary school level, then they would embrace math with greater eagerness and a desire to learn.  This is what inspired Marquis to write her first book, Mikey and the Mysterious Door, to teach a math concept in the form of a story to help make math more enjoyable and less intimidating to elementary school children.

Marquis continues to reside in Rhode Island with her husband, Gary, and their three children, Drew, Hailey, and Moriah. Her other published work includes a poem entitled, My Patriot, which commemorates her husband and his service in the United States military.

When I place an item through this "input" door, it comes out different--sometimes less, sometimes more.

I would be very grateful if you could kindly lend me a hand, and maybe together, we will both understand...
