About the Book

The first book I had written contains information regarding the traditional things that are going on in the church today and have been going on for many, many years.  God has inspired me with the assistance from my wife to dig deeper and research a little more about these traditons.  It is to open our eyes as well as the eyes of others and set us free from those old traditions that are holding us back from having a real relationship with Christ.  Christ came to save us not to keep us in bondage or slavery.  People are hurting because they have been taught that there is a certain way that they have to serve God in order to be blessed.  They have been told that there are certain things they cannot do if they want to be blessed or saved.

The so called Pastors/False Prophets have kept so many people in darkness. God’s people are still in bondage by the false teachers.   So many people believe if they don’t work in the church (usher, in the choir, on the missionary board, etc.) they are not saved.  Many people believe that you have to work to be saved.  They have missed the mark.  As a Christian, you work because you are saved, it is not an obligation, but a privilege.

Christ is our comforter.  He has not come to keep us in bondage.  He has freed us from our sins, from the law of bondage.  When the people came to Jesus and ask to be healed he always tell them that “your faith” has made you whole or your faith has healed you.  Faith in Christ is the Key Word.

                               Pastoral Epistles

I and II Timothy and Titus were written by the Apostle Paul.  1st Timothy was written to Timothy at Epheus while Apostle Paul was traveling in the coastal regions of the Aegean Sea.  Titus was written to Titus in Crete. II Timothy was written from Rome toward the end of Paul’s second imprisonment.

The epistles concern the church organization and disciples, including the office of the bishops and deacons, the oppositions of heretical or rebellious members, and the provision for maintenance of doctrine purity.

The authorship of these epistles has been disputed because of the difference of the vocabulary and styles from other epistles.

Based on the scriptures there are two Offices in the Church of Christ; the Pastor and the Deacon.

The Pastor, Bishop, Overseer, Shephered, Apostle, Ministers and Elders are used interchanged in the body of Church.

The Deacon’s responsibility is to assist the Pastor in the governing operations of the church.

“Vs1. This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. Vs.2  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband to one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Vs3. Not given to wine, no stricker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; Vs4. One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection will all gravity; Vs5.  For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?  Vs6.  Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into condemnation of the devil.  Vs7.  Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Requirement of the Deacon.

1st Timothy Chapter 3:8

Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;  9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.  10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of deacon, being found blameless.  11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanders, sober, faithful in all things.  12 Let the deacons be the husband of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.  13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith of Christ Jesus.

Deacons should be able to take over the responsibilities of the Pastor in his absent if need be.
