Tosha L. Jones
June 26, 2007 - I am awakened by the songs of birds and the flow of a fall of water. My spirit is anxious and quickened to rise up and begin. The canvas is empty and the paint and brushes all lay at my feet --- Create in this day your portrait for tomorrow!
Immediately I knew that my destiny was to share some of my most memorable times in life. I do hope that you are touched by these simple expressions of me as I take you through moments in my life from the past, present and future.
A native daughter of the Tarheel State, Tosha grew up in the small town of Goldsboro, North Carolina. After graduating from Eastern Wayne Senior High School, she earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. "This is where my life truly began", she says with a look of admiration. “I would be remised if I didn't give love to my wonderful sorors of the Omega Nu Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated who contributed to my growth tremendously. Also a very special ‘thank you’ to the man who introduced me to real love – you know who you are! Last, but certainly not in the least – I thank my family for their endless love and support.”
Tosha hopes to provide an inspiration to readers as they relate to the moments that she shares from her life.
Stay tuned for her next book entitled “Remember Me – A documentary of Alzheimer’s Disease through a daughter’s eyes.”
THE HEART KNOWS
No matter how wonderful you are to me
Or how your touch makes my heart sing
The chills that run up and down my spine you bring
I know you're not the one for me.
How curious is this love thing
The one that tells me I am the answer to his dreams
And treats me like I am his Queen
Yet does not completely satisfy me?
Do I not know who I want in love or do I know him all too well?
Should I accept the love of the one that is here right now?
Can he make my lovesick soul well?
My mind, body and soul need more than physical healing
For a few months now I'll admit, you had me caught up in that feeling
Yet I'm beginning to realize that my floor is your ceiling
As the words you speak to me are becoming less appealing.
The gap between the true you and me
Grows wider everyday
The you of a stagnant mind without ambition
Can't keep up with the goals I've made.
I know where I'm going with this
Looks like my decision has already been made
Don't take it the wrong way my friend
But you're occupying borrowed space.
It's time for me to move on now
To someone to whom I can relate
Someone who has dreams and aspirations
