About the Book
Eureka Springs Feud Ends Deadly is based on tragically true events. While Eureka Springs, Arkansas today is host to many tourists from all over the world, it holds much more sentiment to myself and family members. My parents were both born and raised there and my brother and I were born there as well. It was in one of those now tourist shops that my uncle Jack Bohannan was shot and killed one hot August afternoon in 1972. Eureka Springs Feud ends Deadly recalls those tragic events also including court transcripts from the murder trial.

Standing before Jack’s graveside, I read the words inscribed on the lower portion of the stone, “Murdered by a Traitor and Coward Whose Name is not worthy to Appear Here.” Jack was murdered one hot August evening in 1972. His murder, the events following his murder, and the three court trials thereafter rarely drifted far from my mind for the past thirty-five years. So too on my mind all these years was the “Traitor and Coward” responsible for the death of Jack Bohannan. While the coward’s name certainly was not worthy to appear on Jack’s monument, it was long overdue to be mentioned in this context to expose the cold-blooded person Claude Hamby had been all of his life. Standing near Jack’s grave that day, I realized that exposure of the coward who had taken his life would be the only real justice Jack would ever be granted.
