About the Book

What Is For Worse is a question asked by a young woman who endured chronic infidelity in an effort to have her marriage rank among the elite couples experiencing longevity in marriage. The history of bad choices in men sends her on a search through her childhood to shed light on her present pain. The young wife discovers there is more to marriage than love.

However, a single parent home is so common, it is accepted as normal. The cycle of men walking away from their families is shamefully high; yet these men feel no shame at all about putting the mother of their children at risk to live in poverty. How can such men feel shame when maintaining a reputation as a player is more important?

There are so many programs for at-risk families. It takes time to find a program that has been successful at reducing the rate of single-parent families. One program does not fit all communities.

What is more alarming is our near-total reliance on federal programs to initiate training for life skills that should start at home.

One may ask, “When do you teach a child about family life?” A better question is, “What is the child learning from you right now about family life that will equip them for marriage?”
