Gladys was born to god-fearing parents and reared at Lemon Hall, St. Catherine, Jamaica W.I. She taught elementary school for a while then migrated to England to pursue a career in nursing and did so successfully. She later migrated to Canada and continued nursing. She is the mother of two sons, one daughter and grandmother of six boys and two girls. She is a people person and has an interest in establishing relationships with people. She loves to speak to people’s hearts and truly hopes that each poem she writes will personally speak to somebody’s heart in a very special way. She believes that people are the greatest commodity man will ever have in this life.

Friendship is the key that is used
To unite the heart and soul that mused
It is used when hearts are not so smart
And often pierce the very thought
To take a look into it's book
And find in there the word sincere
To be a friend is not to pretend
You love someone while on the mend
But to search your heart soul and mind
To see if in there you can find
The kindness that will some day remind
You of a friend to whom you have been kind....
Beauty and the Peace!
The beauty and the peace of man
Was forever written in God's plan
That when the master plan unfolds
Man would kneel down at His feet
And learn a few things like a treat
For that plan could be quite neat
The beauty and the peace God gives
Is the life He expects a human to live
To love his neighbour like himself
And thus secure for them great wealth
To live in harmony and good health
So that His presence would be felt.....

A smile is only just one way
To say hello you're welcome this day
It generates warmth and relaxes the will
Beware it is not a skill to pay your bill
Should your heart tremble listen to it's beat
It'll cause you to linger and ponder a treat
Smile from the heart brightens the face
Shows from the start you have good taste
For a smile at it's beat will stand all tests
It will cause you to rest with the best
Smile if you must but not all you can trust....
