A Smorgasbord of Poetry depicts life, nature, happenings and situations. At its very core it speaks to people at different places and spaces in their lives.
This body of work will evoke different emotions for the reader, prodding them to embrace the truths of who they are, as well as to accept the various facets of their beings which shape the persons they were created to be.
Madge Sewell-Lazarus, is considered to be a deep and spiritual thinker with a great concern for humanity. She believes that it is of crucial importance for each individual; to find the pathway to their souls and from there, live lives of abundance.
"A Smorgasbord of Poetry", is reflective of the depth, richness and character of the Author. This new chapter in her career, has taken her from a Fashion Writer for the Jamaica Observer, to a Poet. Her many years working in the Social Services, has honed her skillls in understanding human thought processes.

Nice words by the shore
Kind words doled out plenty
The brighter side seen
No one dare give a thought to be mean.
Ever so gentle, so caring and kind
This just can't be real
Any pain you don't feel
Twinkle in the eyes are for real
Party for relish
Good friends ever cherish
Future always bright
They hear the singing of birds
Not the barking of guns...........
