Alibriana and the Hickerpotamus is the story of a ten year old and her new pet. Alibriana acquires the hippopotamus while her parents are at work. Living in a tenth floor apartment with a large animal is no issue for Alibriana. Or is it? The hippo has an allergic reaction to pizza and ends up hiccupping his way through ten floors (literally). Along the way, Alibriana and the hippo meet the nicest neighbors.
Jeff Hansen is a man with a wife, Melissa, and two daughters, Alia and Briana, and a cat named Jack, all of whom provide him with the best audience a storyteller could ask for. (Except for Jack the Cat. He couldn’t care less). Oh, and there was Katie the Dog for a while, but she just barked. Over the years, many of the stories were lost because they were told at bedtime and people fell asleep in the middle of them. However some of the memorable ones live on and have been passed on to others.
In fifty two minutes, Alibriana heard the giant extra heavy duty hippopotamus crane outside her window. Within another thirty-four seconds it deposited the hippo on the balcony of her apartment. She thought it would be great to have a hippopotamus for a pet.
She couldn’t wait for her parents to get home so that she could share her good news.
