The Iraq War: a mine field of explosive actions, rhetoric and opinions and yet if one is able to unravel the many layers suffocating the core, one quickly realizes that amongst the numerous cross sections are a dozen slices or so, for which victory or defeat is most dependant.
This book’s purpose, its MANDATE, was to uncover these particulars, present the choices available, the accompanying mindset, and the actual actions to be taken depending on the chosen path, with the added emotional and passionate injection where required to drive the ideas and choices of the American people, their government as well as the people and governments of their respective counterparts around the world.
The book thereby achieves its goal, chapter by chapter, by addressing each of the particular variables and the manner in which they can be manipulated in order to create the desired effect. Some of these include:
· The conscious decision to Win, Lose or Draw in Iraq
· The “right” party and candidate for the office of President of the United States
· The “hearts and minds” of Iraqis
· Strategies to win the war
· The “cost” of war
· Choosing to mend the ties
· The psychological effect of choosing an end
Ultimately, these actions, if implemented as explained, will lead to the realization and manifestation of those very choices thereby converting the intangible buried deep within the confines of the human psyche, to tangible outcomes within the context of the political, military and social arena that is Iraq.
The author’s rich background is directly responsible for the texture and flavor of this work as he has managed to extract key elements from his acute attention to the political climate of the times by isolating the proper variables and providing actual plans for the implementation of the proposed solution. In doing so he has made use of his lifelong insatiable love for politics, coupled with his experience in management, engineering, and aviation to arrive at an encompassing analysis of the present situation in Iraq and the choices to be made to ensure the chosen end.
This lifelong political addiction surfaced at the tender age of 12 as he sat glued to the evening newscast with images of the Berlin Wall, the emblem of communist ideology, crumbling to pieces right before his very eyes. It was that cataclysmic event in time that both sent a shiver down his spine and fueled his love for politics ever since. Then as life unfolded, his repertoire continued to grow in parallel with his political knowledge and opinions and is directly responsible for the realism and energy embedded within each line of this work.
The author’s achievements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University; a Transport Canada Civil Aviation approved private pilot license, certificates for numerous business courses, experience with government authorities worldwide on behalf of multinational corporations and fluency in three languages including English, French and Italian.
… in order to understand what actions must be taken, we must dissect and understand the scope and the landscape of the current political climate, and then and only then can we choose the right paths for our governments to follow in order to ensure the best interests of all people, as there is no defining line or border that cannot be penetrated on the road to victory.
Before any plans are even laid out, a decision must be taken by the present and future US administrations as to whether the Iraq war is one that should end in victory or succumb to defeat. Basically, the White House and the government as a whole must choose whether the US is to win, lose, or draw in Iraq!
There is no right party for this monumental task; there are only “right minds”—those individuals in government who are not looking out for number one; those individuals who actually have the best interest of the troops and the Iraqi people at heart and ironically the best interest of the enemy as well.
The genius of all plans is twofold, continually working in parallel such that at any instant the alternate can be pursued at a loss or gain depending on the situation.
When one chooses to follow through on difficult decisions, actions must be taken in order to transfer the idea from the intangible realm of the human psyche to the realism of the world around us...
