About the Book

Shane is off on another mission.  The Irish and the French have a mysterious formula that Shane must investigate.  Alicia never falters in her support of him.

“I am Lisa,” She began.  “I am here from the Society.  They told me that you want to learn more about us and what we do,” she said plainly….. “I hear you conduct experiments,” Shane said.  “Experiments that produce strange effects on a person…makes them gain unnatural powers.”  Shane looked at the woman quizzically for any reaction.  “Yes, we do!” she said excitedly.
About the Author

I loved literature in my early years as a student.  I studied famous works such as Shakespeare, James Joyce, William Faulkner, and other writers.  My best trait is the clear capture and the descriptions of places from my imaginations, impressions and feelings.  I write from the heart and emerse myself in etching the setting, context, and feelings of my characters in my book.  I hope that you enjoy this sequel of Shane and Alicia’s adventures.  The Irish-French Connection is filled with mystery, excitement, fantasy, and allurement.  How will Shane discover the answer to the mysterious formula and even more mysterious people who make it?  How will he survive their magical powers, the rich allure of the Irish and French people, and the attraction of supernatural powers given by this formula?  The Irish-French Connection illustrates the answers to these questions.

The candlelight flickered in the darkened room.  It’s flame lit up the whole table as it rests upon a lime green linen tablecloth.  There were flowers arranged on the table; Bright, red ones, as well as yellow ones.  The table was set for two, but only one person was sitting at the table.  Shane noticed that hardly anyone sat on the balcony where he was sitting.  The crowd was mostly downstairs.  The balcony on which he sat, overlooked a dining area downstairs.  Positioned right in front of his gaze was the entertainment area.  No one was there at the moment only the pianist who was playing some light tunes.  The air was misty and smoky.  And as Shane looked down, he could see the thickness of the mists as people milled around in it.  ‘It’s that exasperating cold here,’ Shane thought.  The gas works which heated the pub was so high that the dining area appeared misty as it clashed with the cold air outside.  The scent in the pub was mixed with flowers and perfume.  Shane rapped his fingers on the table impatiently.  He looked over the balcony.  People were still milling around chatting and laughing.  He missed Alicia.  It has been two days since he left her for this place.  He missed kissing her and making love to her.  The council had said that this assignment would not take long.  Adam was ten months old already.  Shane loved his son and the way he smiled up at him.  It is true that Adam inherited his light brown hair and blue eyes from his father, but he has his mother’s skin tone….that soft brown colour that Shane loves.  Thinking about them just made him miss them even more.  A microphone fell and the noise resound throughout the whole pub.  Shane looked up.  There was someone getting up to the podium of the entertainment area.  A small band assembled behind the podium.  The piano player was still there.  The music starts to play and the singer, a woman, starts to sing the lyrics of a song:

“Trying to be

To be so strong

I look into your eyes

And say hello

So hopelessly

I wait for your reply

When suddenly you grab me close

And press your lips to mine

You read my mine

Every memory

Every embrace

Every time my lips touch your face

It’s nothing like loving you

It’s nothing like loving you

It’s nothing like loving you

Every single touch

Every on my mind

Cross my heart

Don’t know why

It’s nothing like loving you

It’s nothing like loving you

Loving you
