Larry D. Schultz
This book is a verbal passage way to places where many have never gone and probably never will. What started as a photo hobby for me turned into a one year journal searching for the one artist who has the biggest reputation for tagging bridges, water towers, trains, and any other medium that will hold the ink from his can. It’s an emotional roller coaster as I take you by the hand into the world of graffiti art. This book could give you a new perspective of who your neighbors are, your co-workers, and quite possibly even yourself as your creative curiosity shows itself. So, don’t be surprised when you find yourself doodling a bit more than usual.
Larry has always had something to say about everything. So it's no surprise he finally wrote a book. With his adventurous spirit and passion for photography, the hunt for art in his city was very fulfilling for him.
Having a very diverse background, he aspires to be an inspirational speaker, helping motivate those around him and across the country. He has a bi-weekly newsletter called ‘The 51st State” which he subtitles as ‘the state of happiness’. You can sign up for it at his website www.LarryDSchultz.com
“The Mixing Ball”- By Larry D. Schultz
A back alley, a bridge,
A bench in the park,
I’m a graffiti writer
At night I leave my mark.
I’m not a punk, or a bully,
I have a job and work all day.
You ask me why I write on the city?
I get it up when I have something to say!
I may be your neighbor,
A student or a teacher.
You sit next to me at a game,
I’ll be the one tagging up the bleacher.
I head for the freight,
Got a piece I have to finish.
I’m tired and its late,
Shoulda ate my spinach.
I finally get it up,
It’s nine feet tall.
You never knew I was there,
Unless you heard my mixing ball.
