Let us look at the videos we have to watch in this day and age. We have Master P and his sexed out videos, California rappers and their pool party videos, and the R Kelly videos. Sex sells and we know it! Think of all the kids watching these videos. They go to clubs and act these videos out by dancing. Let’s be real. Dancing, nowadays, is like having sex on the dance floor. Every time you hear the song, the video comes on in your head. Jesus said:
“But I tell you anyone who looks at a women lustfully has already committed adultery (fornication) with her in his heart.” (Matthew 5:28, NIV)
When you look at a woman or man lustfully, you are contemplating things you can do sexually to that person. So, if you are watching videos and see such acts and think, “Boy, I wish that was me!” you have committed fornication or adultery (if you are married). That means you have just sinned. You just had sex with that person without physical contact! Doesn’t that suck! The sin gets recorded without the pleasure. Letting the sin nature control you is not worth it!
Can you now understand how music can also affect you? How videos can lead your mind to sin? I pray that this explanation is helpful to you.
