About the Book

In this, the second compilation of short horror and dark romance stories  are encountered anything from ghostly visitations of departed lovers, to festering madness unnoticed in busy worlds, with much more in-between, each story building slowly to an often surprising climax, taking the unsuspecting reader to unexpected conclusions. Linked unusually through the first 15 Tales by the fictitious Cafe Romana coffee bar, we ease out of this compilation with 6 other stories which will serve to entertain, yet are also designed to shock. In here will be found various kinds of people, the bullies, the cowards, the vain, the selfish, the hopeful, the caring, the brave and the selfless, positive and negative, yin and yang.

These are not just horror and dark romance tales, though, as the people dealt with inside these pages are motivated in their different ways, showing their strengths and weaknesses in how they interact with one another, whether they be cruel or kind, ignoble or honourable, repellent or laudable. In this collection are showcased the disparate inhabitants of the Human Zoo, the myriad situations they find themselves in bringing out the best or worst in them, according to the twists and turns of solo or shared experiences.

So, as you enter the shadowy fictional worlds of 'EERIE ECHOES & MIDNIGHT MENACE', be prepared to look into the dark mirror and perhaps see someone you know or even yourself, and to question which category it is right for a person to fall into. Being a part of the interactive Human Zoo is being a part of the adventure, why we live, in the first place, stand or fail, and surely we know the clock of Life & Death ticks inexorably, for everyone. The ultimate question has to be, how do we possibly conduct ourselves?

About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Adrian Francis Fox was born in June 1960 in Calverton, Nottinghamshire, England, grew up and lived in Ilford, Essex, for many years, writing from a very early age. Seriously composing from 18 years of age, the author developed the taste for Dark Romance and Horror, also strongly drawn toward poetry writing, examples of his work to be seen via the 'Vampire Rave', 'Jamfan.net' and 'Gothic Revue Magazine' websites.

The author's approach is dark, overall, containing a sensitive core which is at times poetical, seeking to both provide inspiration and even to warn, his love of contemporary post-war musics and styles often reflected within the framework of his poems and stories, especially.

Adrian Francis Fox is the rider and owner of a classic 1963 Lambretta LI Series III (Gothic Mod Custom) scooter, an enduring deep interest and affection for the 1960's colouring much of his literary output. In essence a romantic soul, with a distinct love of The Night.

Sukie's eyes were like sterile green chips of glass, sullenly fixed on the pages of her novel, no feeling of warmth or empathy radiating from her, whatsoever. A bleak state of affairs which had been the standard, for years. Vincent loved her with all his Being, despite this life with her being so loveless and cold. The moment that ring had found its way onto her finger, it seemed, the ball game had abruptly changed. Yes, he was the 'needy' one, and no matter what levels of pain he was feeling inside, at any one time, Sukie held all the cards, and the trouble was she knew it...'
