So we decided to write this book in the hope that it will help people nationwide who do not as yet have all their needs met by their healthcare services as they are currently delivered.  We had to figure out ways to get our particular approach to people who needed it.  This book, much like a road map, is one of the ways we are bringing our guidance and support to you.  We hope that it will inspire public awareness and demand, as well as provide immediate aid to people who are unable to locate or access personal care managers.  The eight activities you will discover in this book are not meant to be a panacea; nor are they meant to be all-encompassing.  Rather they comprise a basic framework to support the care and direction you will receive from your doctor.  We hope that you find this framework helpful and that you experience the same improvements in control, efficacy, decision making, and well-being that we have been able to bring to others throughout our continued efforts.
