Flames!
Every way he turned, the flames rose strong and treacherous.
He saw her there, trapped by the fire, same as he.
He had grown to love her, yet he found he didn’t care if she lived or died.
This feeling inside repulsed him.
It was not like him to be so callous.
As he watched, she faded from view, leaving him stranded in the flames.
That act caused more pain than the encroaching flames.
The sorrow crept deep inside until it burst into the flames of anger!
Just as his skin was burning from the external fire, his emotions caused a holocaust within.
The fire of his anger intensified until it engulfed him body and soul!
Just as he could bear the pain no longer, he awoke to find himself drenched in sweat, confused by the images still burned into his mind.
