About the Book

This book is a must for anyone who has had a fear of death, has a wounded heart, or has a loved one going through a terminal illness.

After all of the wonderful near-death experiences that I have heard, here is a story of an extraordinary free choice experience of stepping into the Light Source. This factual story of one woman who worked hard to find the Creator within herself and who not only found the Creator but found an expanded world that would allow her to continue life in wonderment and awe without the gripping fear of the death process.

Starting in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, this story weaves its magic up through the vineyards of Sonoma County and Mendocino, and into the fir and redwood forested mountains of northern Mendocino County. This simple story tells how Lil decided to include her closest and dearest friends in her death experience. Her understanding of the "other dimension" prompted her to include those nearest and dearest to her, so that they could experience the magical walking into the Light that she was experiencing. This generous act would open the door for another woman to have a personal inner experience of embracing the Light.

As you walk with the author, you see her search for the meaning of life and spirituality. Her personal study of religions and books on inner growth, her observations of life led by her devotion to the spirit within, and her subsequent meeting with Lil, who in turn, would make a personal introduction to the Light Source. This introduction would change the author’s inner life. Once knowing that the Creator was a living part of her, she began to see how much of her life had led her to this one point. She began to put together the pieces of a fragmented life, which instantly came together with the help of the Spiritual Source. She discovered her real purpose in life and what she was here to do. With this knowledge also came the understanding that death, as we here on earth see it, does not exist.

As the author walked through the first two doors of death with her friend, she would see the Creator as she had seen it in meditation, as a beautiful loving Light Source. This would lead her to see events in her life, which had been assisted by the Light and how a part of her was still connected to this Light Source and responded accordingly when she experienced it.

Although not an experienced writer, Ms. Handley has woven a message of faith and inspiration from her experience for all to share. Her message comes directly from her heart and attempts to share at that basic level.

Lil’s quick wit and beautiful smile radiated with the glow I imagined Christ himself to have had. This injured body with its enchanting soul was so beautiful it was hard to take my eyes off of her and equally as hard to imagine that she had suffered a stroke. That one fact seemed very difficult to comprehend indeed.

Lil started talking in her broken slurred speech about what needed to be handled before she went "Home". The doctors had informed her that she had less than three months to live and more than likely it would be one month at best. The Cat-Scan had shown three brain tumors; one large and two smaller ones that were malignant and non-operable. There was little modern medicine could do for her except to give her drugs that would make the pain temporarily subside and whatever else it took to make her as comfortable as possible.

As she gave us that information, her glow did not diminish one bit. I could see as she talked about her upcoming event, her impending death, her glow even became stronger. This seemed contradictory to me. While on one hand this conversation was easy to understand because my heart instantly felt what she was saying was true. The other side of me, which included my intellect, sent messages of disbelief that someone could understand the death process so completely that their whole being would just glow! She was looking forward to that eventual crossing-over to the other side for the oneness it held, but was savoring her last few days with those she loved. She knew she would always be able to be with her loved ones, but also knew their understanding of this phenomena had not yet been developed. While she did not appear to be in any hurry when I was around, it was clear to me that she realized she had little time to waste.

She explained that the glow we saw, was from her body having completely embraced the Light. The experience of the stroke, while it had caused a lot of confusion in the sterile medical room, was one filled with the strongest presence of the Light she had ever encountered. As the stroke became more intense, so also did the Light as it took over her body. The Light had completely embraced her every cell during this experience allowing her to know she was okay and going home. She said she had chosen to keep the Light with her as the stroke finished and not let it go so she could bring it back to share it with us. Eventually, she would share this Light with us, as well as the first two doors of death. Sharing with us its magnitude and magnificence. She would spend the remaining short time of her life from this place, having one foot with the Light and the other foot with us in the physical world.
