About the Book

This “how-to” manual teaches a useful skill in psychic sensing, called Directed Intuition. It involves merely shifting your awareness, much like you routinely shift attention to recall a memory. You can use the skill at any time, with eyes open and engaged in activities.

The unique training method has proven effective both in classes and self-instruction. The author devised the concept in the mid 1960s after years of developing his own sensing ability by experiment, and by ‘69 began teaching classes for several years. This updated book (first edition 1970) has abundant examples of remarkable results and swift learning—even some within a few minutes.

The lessons are a third of the text. The rest discusses expected achievements, mental impressions during training, and applications for the skill in diverse fields, including business, foreign affairs, and relationships.

This book is intended for (1) people desiring to enrich their lives with psychic insight, (2) disciplined researchers into psychic phenomena, and (3) investigators of subjects where needed data cannot be obtained by other means.

About the Author

The author’s experience covers 50 years of research, writing, and teaching in engineering and psychic fields. He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Pepperdine University. His 1960 textbook Digital Computer Principles was used in 14 colleges. In mind behavior, his degrees are Doctor of Metaphysics and Doctor of Hypnotherapy.

He became strongly interested in psychic sensing in the mid ‘50s while trying to heal a handicapped friend with hypnosis, when it became apparent that his verbal probings into his friend’s mind were making the man psychic. From observations then and later, he extracted enough clues to teach himself over a two-year period in the mid ‘60s to obtain psychic information skillfully.

Naming his technique Directed Intuition, by 1969 he had developed and verified a quick-training method for the skill, as taught in this book and many classes. Additionally, he learned and taught techniques of psychic healing, using only the energies of the mind.

In 1971-72, he offered professional therapy and counseling for a time, combining hypnosis with psychic skills. Experiences with patients added to his knowledge about problems traceable to past lives and treatable by psychic healing.

The author lives in Northridge, California, with this wife, Marilyn, another excellent practitioner of Directed Intuition. They routinely gather information with this method, both for casual day-to-day events and for guidance in other psychic activities.

“Yes, I do know one,” the attractive young woman spoke into the phone in the early 1970s, “but first I’d like to try it myself.”

My eager trainee was talking to her sister, who had called from Oklahoma with a request to locate a good psychic because she wanted some information.

She informed her sister that she just happened to be taking my class in Los Angeles in Directed Intuition, hoping to become psychic. And although (in her words) she just played at it in class, she would like to try to identify the question on her sister’s mind.

She had attended only three of my five lessons of two hours, but they were about to yield astonishing results.

She proceeded to sense the sister’s query situation and discuss it in detail over the phone, correctly describing the man she had met, his appearance and characteristics, his child, his job, and the sister’s own attitudes and feelings in this area. She then went on to explain the man’s interest and sincerity—the information the sister wanted.

This casual performance, requiring no significant effort beyond normal conversation, flabbergasted the sister and amazed herself.

Just getting started

But that was only her opening act. During that day and the next, she tried her new ability successfully in at least three other situations. First, she correctly described to a friend the circumstance that was causing his mother so much concern, regarding investments.

Second, she persuaded her husband to name someone she didn’t know so she could try to describe him. She did this so well that her husband refused even to talk to her any more about anything related to her psychic interest.

Third, after phoning me excitedly to report those nearly unbelievable achievements, she met with me and an associate to try to visualize the events surrounding his lost diamond ring. She said it was worth about $1000 (back when money was worth a lot more). The owner produced the insurance claim, showing it valued at $980.

All this was done easily by a woman who had never previously exhibited any psychic ability. From that day on, her skill was remarkable.

How could she do this?

No secret. She had learned the Psychic Shift, as taught in this book.

What''s the Psychic Shift?

This is a simple mental action, involving merely shifting your conscious awareness to a designated place within your head. By doing so, you tune your mind automatically to seek and receive psychic information.

You do this in much the same way you routinely shift your attention to something you want to see or hear or remember, while cutting off interfering impressions from around you. You can perform the shift for psychic sensing just as routinely, and often as effectively.
