About the Author

K.K. (Ken Kupstis) was born and raised in Meriden, Connecticut, but really has NO hard feelings against it, really. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida, and has worked in various capacities for The Cable News Network, The Walt Disney World Company, Carnival Cruise Lines, Rainforest Café, and Orlando’s TERROR ON CHURCH STREET Theater, which inspired the character Pokerface (that’s him on the cover).

He is the author of the horror anthology INHUMAN RESOURCES (available through Iuniverse.com) and his short fiction and essays have been published in CHIC Magazine, INTO THE DARKNESS, FLORIDA Magazine, CREATIO EX NIHILO, APRICORN ANTHOLOGY, FOCUS-IN ENTERTAINMENT, The ORLANDO SENTINEL and the MERIDEN RECORD-JOURNAL.

As an actor, he appears in the feature films GO, BIOHAZARD: THE ALIEN FORCE, IMMORTAL, and numerous stage productions. He has lived in Connecticut, Florida, Spain, California, and currently resides in Las Vegas.

"Hi, I’m ho-" the final word became "ooooOOOAAAAHHH!!!" As the true homecoming bit him in the eyes.

Above him, at the top of the stairs, was his father. The man who had spawned him, raised him, protected him, loved him. He was on his back, arched towards Colin, hands dangling limply at his sides, his sightless eyes looking at his son but not seeing him. The fact that his father was dead was a cold chisel of anguish, paralyzing him on the landing. It was horror, the worst he’d ever known, but it was not the true horror.

The true horror was hunched inches above his father in a ridiculous clown suit, its huge body thick with both flab and muscle, its gaily painted face hovering inches from Glen’s gaping mouth.

Colin stood and stared, thunderstruck by the sight.

As he watched, a small and horrible creature spilled from the clown’s mouth, bathed in a sickly white froth of saliva or something worse. It was a locust, but it had a--

(NO this isn’t possible NOne of this is happening NOne of this is real--)

The creature hung on for a moment, its multiple legs scrambling for purchase on Glen’s face. Then it found Glen’s mouth, climbed in and disappeared.

But not before Colin got a good glimpse of it, and saw, though its coating of slime, that the locust had a small but quite lifelike human head--
