It was pitch black now, and even darker amongst the trees. It took me a while to acclimatise myself to the different noises. All around me the trees were dripping raindrops, it sounded like a bowl of rice crispies multiplied by ten, only snap and crackle had retired and there was just the sound of a thousand pops as they fell from the leaves and branches. The rain was coming down in buckets now and i was soaked. The cold wind was biting at my clothes like a police dog and i started to shiver uncontrollably.

About the Author
Mark Howell is a forty year old Yorkshireman born and bred, who resides in his hometown. He spends any spare time with his daughter and partner who he descibes as the woman of his dreams. Writing is his passion and he has had a number of short stories and poems published in mainsteam magazines. Prank is his first novel and he draws on a lifetime of underworld experiences.
