When Fiona saw the empty bottles and cans in the living room it reminded her of the empty bottles and cans that used to be on the floor of mummy Pat’s home. The smell that Fiona didn’t like, reminded her of mummy Pat. Although Fiona’s new mummy was not drunk the faint smell of the alcohol made Fiona feel afraid that she may have to move again to a new family.Like Fiona, all adopted children have memories that can make them feel upset, like a certain smell or seeing something that reminds them of their birth families. Fiona started ripping the wallpaper as she felt upset and scared and couldn't find the words to explain how she was feeling, by ripping the wallpaper she was expressing the way she was feeling inside.
