About the Book

This story begins in the year 2000 in April, just after Marko Muguni (the dealer) turns 20 years old and he has just undergone a LCCI London Chambers of Commerce diploma in Marketing; Public Relations and Advertising having just passed his “A” Levels by the skin of his teeth because of his over-indulging in beers and nightclubbing. Marko is a very fit guy an all round sportsman and he has been training in martial arts from the age of 14 in the style of Aikido the same style practiced by Steven Seagull. He is now on a brown belt and he is about to attain his black belt. He is also currently working as a part-time relief Bus-Conductor for his father’s Inter-Southern African Cities bus company which operates in the Southern African Countries Cities of Botswana; Namibia; Zambia; Malawi; Swaziland; Mozambique; Tanzania and Zimbabwe. He then start’s to deal in foreign currency changing currency for people using his father’s bus company and at every bus stops where he ends up when he is working he soon builds up a capital base of US$33 000 dollars with a little help from his USA$20 000.00 18th birthday present from his dad, with which he uses to buy and sell Diamonds from the DRC and Tanzanite’s from Tanzania selling them in South Africa with the help of his uncle Henry, in turn he buys goods from South Africa which he buys as per order and he soon builds demand and contacts in Zambia; Tanzania; Mozambique; Malawi; Swaziland; Lesotho; Botswana; Namibia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.


About the Author

Vincent Proud has a BA (Hons) degree in advertising and brand management with business management from Manchester Metropolitan University and Sunderland University, after attending AAA School of Advertising (Cape Town). He has ten years experience in advertising and marketing, handling worldwide brands such as Nike, Silicon Graphics computers, Goodyear Tyres, Sprite, Gilbey’s liquor brands, Ebony magazine (South Africa), EDS Computers, and local brands such as MTN (South Africa), Castle Lager, CNA shops, P4 Radio (Cape Town), ANC 1995 local government elections, and the Nelson Mandela 1995 birthday party. He has worked for the following advertising agencies and marketing companies in South Africa: TBWA Hunt Lascaris (Johannesburg), Young & Rubicam (Cape Town), API Sports Marketing (Cape Town), AWSG JWT (Cape Town), P4 Radio (Cape Town), MTN (South Africa), and 8 Seconds advertising (Johannesburg). He moved to England to further his studies in advertising, and he has authored two books on African Unity: first, Africa Must Unite, and then The United Countries of Africa Now!!! His first and only fiction is the The Adventures of an African Dealer, which is also available in Amazon.
