About the Book

On a planet called Frandis is a continent called Traztajor, which is divided into eight countries. Kangalor in the west is the largest of these countries. In the north, an area known as the upland is under the despotic rule of Zackard Lei, who is ruthless, brutal, and mad. Lei, the leader of the Das Blaazd Society of Thaumaturgery, has once before made war on the midland and downland areas of Kangalor, bringing much death and devastation until he was driven back behind his own borders by the brilliant and courageous leadership of Zaland Arj, the formidable leader of the Maj Society of Thaumaturgery. For five years, there was peace. Now Lei is plotting mayhem and turmoil for the unsuspecting population of Kangalor. He has developed a huge cannon and explosive devices to use against the Kangalor Army. He has ordered the building of a large fleet of ships whose only purpose is to land Lei’s soldiers, under blaazd leaders, all along the west coast of Kangalor and let his soldiers burn, slaughter, and plunder as they please. But there are dragons whose powerful black leader, the mighty Zagog, brings terrible revenge that will help to overturn Lei’s plans.

About the Author

The author was born in a small village in South Yorkshire, England. As the second of four children, she soon learned that selfishness was not tolerated. She loved to lose herself in books, even writing short stories and poems. This was not encouraged by a mother who considered that a daughter’s time was best occupied learning to clean, cook, and sew. As a young woman, she joined the WRNS, where she learned to be independent and part of a great team. She married a petty officer and lived in Kent and Portsmouth. They have one daughter. The marriage lasted ten years. Returning to Yorkshire with her daughter, she worked first as a stock controller then as a buyer before becoming an administrator. She enjoyed working with other teams of people and built a social life for herself around her work and colleagues. In her spare time, she still reads a lot, completes code words, plays scrabble against the computer, and enjoys jigsaw puzzles, especially through those long winter months. She holds strong political views, but democratically, she believes that everybody has a right to their own opinions. She likes people who can persuade her to think differently but not those who demand it of her.
