About the Book

Foreword by Neville Randall, Ex ‘Daily Mail’ journalist and author the best-selling book ‘Life After Death’

This book is quite different. It held my attention, and I felt involved all the way through.

Pete Perry has a terrific story to tell, and he does so as a professional writer.

As a human story of an attractive hero who has overcome all that fate could throw at him, it makes compulsive reading.

It is an inspiring lesson in how to survive tragedy which would make frailer mortals like me collapse in despair.

But Pete’s triumph springs partly from his immortal experiences.

I longed for a happy ending, and was delighted when it came.

It is terrific stuff, - moving and compulsive.

About the Author

Pete Perry was born on 30th June 1937, against all odds, - his mother almost died, and so did he, but for an administering angel in the form of an aunt.

It was at the time of great upheavel in the UK: King Edward Vlll had just abdicated, and two years later, World war ll broke out. Pete went from an idyllic life in the Scottish Highlands to the terror of The London Blitz. He saw the miracle of wild flowers colonising the destruction caused by Mankind in the bomb sites, and it was this that made him perhaps the world's very first environmentalist at the tender age of 8 years!

His first wife Dorothy died of a brain haemmorrhage in 1967 at the tender aga of 31, leaving his with his two daughters, Vivien, aged 5 years, and Debbie, only 15 months, on his own. Despite the hardship, and against all odds, he, together with UK MP Mrs Shirley Williams (later Baroness Williams) to introduce a One Parent Family Allowance for all lone parents, regardless of gender. It was introduced in 1971, soon after Pete harried his second wife, Shirley. So, ironically, he never actually recieved it!

In 1968, he formed The Magic Oak Tree Family (MOTF), a worldwide fraternity dedicated to world peace, international understanding, and respect for all living things, including the planet upon which we live.

Pete has written for, and produced illustrations for several UK horticultural journals, and has produced environmental books and childrens books.

At the age of 69, there is no sign of him retiring, - and he says he will live on this planet for as long as it takes to convince mankind that he must bring about World peace, and to respect the planet and all its myriad forms of life,
