About the Book

Madrigal follows Aduke, a girl living in the picturesque village of Ajafigi in West Africa. She knew from a very young age that she was different from every other girl – or any other human being, for that matter. Aduke has unbelievable powers: she could kill someone by wishing them dead, the wind and birds bring her messages, and she can will whatever she wants into being.

Instead of being intrigued by her powers, Aduke denies them, refusing to embrace her special gift. She feels that acknowledging them will burden her with a responsibility that would surely lead to inevitable doom.

As she reaches adulthood, Aduke meets a wonderful friend and guide who encourages her to embrace her special powers, directing her down a path to fulfill her destiny. Trying to persuade Aduke, he realises that she has every reason to be cautious: her special abilities do come with a great responsibility, predetermining her death and immortalization at age 25.

With Aduke’s 25th birthday rapidly approaching, will she find a way to change her destiny? The road that lies ahead is not an easy one and she will be forced to come face-to-face with evil and use her powers in ways she never imagined. Follow her on a courageous, suspenseful journey in the pages of Madrigal.
