About the Book

The Two Hardest Words is a collection of inspirational and thought provoking poems that have been written encompassing many topics. Whether it be reluctance to admit when you are wrong, or if you are struggling to make sense of life's challenging circumstances, this book is for you.

The Two Hardest Words does not dodge the difficult issues, tackling subjects such as bullying, featured in "The School Bully", or loneliness, suffering, or unseen tears, as in "Tears, the Souls Rain". There are a host of "big" questions that are asked in "Lord did You?"

Poetry is a powerful means of communication where emotions such as anger, sorrow, joy, and laughter can be openly expressed.

It can also be a gentle melody of happy moments captured forever in verse.

This book of poems cover all these and more.

Each poem is accompanied by a photograph taken by the author. These have been thoughtfully chosen to compliment the subject that follows, and creates a window of illustration, that helps to focus the soul on the verses beneath.

This is a book for those quiet moments of reflection giving meaning to those times when the answers are not easy to find. Or to once again appreciate the amazing aspects of God's creation as featured in "Snow", "Rain", and other poems.

So whether purchasing The Two Hardest Words for yourself, or as a gift for someone you love, you can be sure that you will find it to be a book for all occasions.

About the Author

Living in the beautiful and idyllic island of Guernsey, which is situated in the English Channel, it would be tempting to think that life must be good.

This is true for the majority of its inhabitants. However, it quickly becomes evident as one reads Rod's poetry, that some life changing event was pivotal in determining the direction that his writing has taken.

Poetry is a powerful vehicle for expressing emotion, whether it be joy, sadness, anger, disappointment, celebration, or simply reflection. Rod's poetry expresses all of these and more, with a tenderness that has been birthed by his journey a number of years ago, through a period of depression. Something which served to question, and find answers within his Christian faith.

In many of his writings there is still a questioning mind, such as is featured in "Lord did you?" which asks some very penetrating and inspired questions. Coming through many of his poems, and his photographs that illustrate this book, is his obvious love of nature, and this has proved to be an inspiration for a number of his poems.

As you pick up this book and begin to read, you will be touched by the simplicity, honesty, and truth that each poem portrays.

Within them lies an insight into the "greater plan" that God has for our lives, and the way this is revealed often one step at a time.
