“I came to ask you to stop selling my wife drugs.”
“She’s a big girl, X. She knows what she wants.”
“Man, we grew up together, all friends. We took an oath to honor one another in brotherhood.”
“What does that mean to me?”
“Man, it should mean a lot.”
“X, why are you here?”
“Because I want you to stop selling drugs to my wife. You are destroying her ability to be a good wife, mother, and a good person.”
“What do I care?”
“What do you care, Man? This is Pamela, a longtime friend. She’s my wife.”
“Exactly. She’s your wife.”
“Man, what is wrong with you? What does that mean? Are you angry about my relationship with Pamela?”
“Of course not, X. I have a no-care attitude about life, or didn’t you notice?”
“Man, you need some help.”
“I don’t need help. You do. You coming to my house interrupting my day to ask me to stop selling drugs to your wife. You have to be using yourself. You have already cut into my supply and have several of my guys locked up. You’re lucky I haven’t gotten you hooked. You know X I’m curious. Why…why do you supposedly love your wife so much? You’re foolish to come here.”
“Man, paradise is at the feet of thy mother. I love my wife. I took my vows seriously.”
“Did she?”
“She’s confused right now. The drugs you are supplying her is clouding her judgment.”
“X, what fantasy world do you live in?”
“I don’t live in a fantasy world. I live in reality and I hope each time my wife gets clean she remains clean. I hope that you get convicted and change your ways. I hope you realize you have choices and this isn’t what God has for you. One day I hope you wake up and live.”
“You don’t know what the fuck God has for me. Live this is living. And hope, Oh, that’s some shit because hope is debilitating.”
“Brother, where is your heart.”
“I’m the tin man, damn it. I don’t have a heart.”
“Then let me embrace you. You can do away with all this. Man, life can be brighter for you.”
“X, I like walking around with shades on. It’s the only way I see. I see life clearer this way.”
“Brother, come out of the perversion.”
“You haven’t seen my perversion just ask your wife, Pamela.”
“You know, I’m going to leave now, but if you want to talk, you know where I am.”
“Yeah, and your wife has my number.”
“Man, please stop selling my wife drugs.”
“And if I don’t.”
“If you don’t, I’m going to turn you and your entire operation in. I have times, dates, amounts, people involved.”
Man chuckles.
“I’m serious.”
Man stares him down.
“Stop selling my wife drugs.”
“I can’t do that.”
“Why not?”
“Because, I like the way she sucks my dick.”
X is extremely upset but held his composure. Veins are bulging from his head and neck, he could feel the heat literally rising in his body, his hands so hot and sweaty he fumbles with the door knob but manages to open the door to leave.
Man takes another shot at him. “Just like a man with a small penis. If you get close enough to our wife, see the way I emphasize our wife, you can smell me on her breath. Why do you think I call her brown berry, because she’s so soft?”
He stands for a moment in the doorway but maintains his composure.
Man then comes to the door. Clay is at the top of the stairs in the hallway. X moves towards the stairway but Man stops him again.
“Brother, wait, I have something for you.”
X comes back. Man pulls out a small bag of pills.
“Give these to Pamela for me.”
X, finally at his limit pulled back and hit Man square on the jaw, knocking him into the wall and knocking him out. Clay rushes up the stairs. X rushed over to Man grabbing his limp body, he hits him twice before Clay intervenes. He puts half his body in the way.
“No, X, please don’t.”
