This story is written from the heart. Before Winston, dogs were just a nuisance to me. We had several pets (dogs in the yard) over the years. The children loved each and every one of them. I liked them somewhat, but they were big and all over you. I really only tolerated them for the children's sake. Then I found Winston several years ago and now I'm smitten. He is very special to me and what's so funny is that he knows it. This is the first book in a series of Winston's adventures in Historic Natchez, Mississippi. Future adventures will include actual historical sites such as his trip to the Natchez Cemetery, exploring Historic Natchez Under the Hill and the Bayou.
Winston was a very smart dog with such poise and he knew it. His days were spent prancing up and down the streets with his friends; he thought that was such fun. Oh, yes there were others and right next door, lots of dogs, but Amber was his favorite. She was golden in color and much larger. Amber was older and she didn't let Winston bother her even when he barked and ran around her. She just would look at him and move on very slow. Winston usually followed behind wagging his tail. He thought he was special, but he knew Amber was the most special.
She lives in Natchez with her husband and Winston. She is the Mother of 4 with 7 grandchildren, all of which were completely surprised when she brought Winston home. It wasn't until then that she became a dog lover. The grandchildren actually gave Winston his name. She thinks he knows he is important and with a name like Winston , who wouldn't be? The story settings and all the dogs mentioned can be found in her home town, Natchez, Mississippi.
