To pursue materialism as a goal to achieve happiness can leave one disappointed, broke and alone. We are made in the image of God; therefore our happiness lies in the spiritual realm and in knowing Him. Poor substitutions simply cannot bring us to the point of reaching and filling our deepest needs and desires. If one is not careful we might find our worst enemy is ourselves! Sometimes we just need to stop and introspect who we are and how we got there. The buying of false ideas can certainly lead us on a trip that we never desired to take! Jesus said it this way, "Build your house on the rock and it will stand. Build your house on the sand and it will surely fall…” (Matt: 7: 24-26)

LOVE LETTERS TO AMERICA is a book written in love from my heart to yours. I love America and have spent time pondering our course and fate. It has brought me to ask questions that make you think and engage you towards right actions and away from costly traps that can ruin your life. I believe that we all have a correctly charted course laid before us. A destiny written by God to fulfill. If one is not careful, we can change course easily and be headed in the wrong direction. It is possible then, to miss out on what God desires for our lives. Right thinking and choices can help to safeguard our lives and those of our loves ones around us. Hopefully, then we can be found walking out in victory the journey we were destined to take.

Lesa Smith is a first time author. She is just an ordinary American woman. A wife, a mother, and a grandmother, Christian and Sunday School teacher. Her life is very much like many American women. It is with a heart of concern about the state of America that she shares what is on her heart.
