About the Book

In this book, Dear Mr. President, What is CO2?, Crystal shares art created by Travis Cunningham, a brilliant foot artist, exquisite poetry by children from South Carolina, facts and solutions that explain to children what human activities have been doing to Mother Earth, and how everyone can lessen the harmful effects to ensure a healthy environment for all. It has been a sight unseen for many years, but did you know that carbon dioxide (CO2) gases are seriously affecting the Earth? The planet is heating up dramatically, fundamentally changing the world in which we now live. If this continues at its rapid rate, our mishaps will continue to affect life as we know it in more ways than we may comprehend. Please understand that we contribute to the climate changes that is already in progress, but the outcome does not have to be as scary it may sound. Your daily decisions will help determine just how intense or not the effects of global warming could be. In Dear Mr. President, What is CO2? , you will experience art and poetry at its finest, learn about why we should focus our attention on protecting Earth, our only home, and ways to preserve its natural resources. You will experience a whole new outlook as you discover a deeper relationship with the only life-giving planet that has been abused since the Industrial Revolution began. It does not take rocket science to see that the vital necessities we need for life: air, water, and food have been neglected and are becoming more contaminated. With over seven billion people populating the Earth, or shall we say, “Polluting it,” it is simple to assume the quality and quantities of life’s three necessities are not what they used to be.

About the Author

Crystal B. Cochran is married to Alex M. Cochran. Together, with their three delightful children, they enjoy educating humanity of the distresses that our way of life inflicts upon the Earth. Crystal also collaborated with a local school in her efforts to get the children of the community involved in this worthy cause. In doing so, she compiled 11 and 12 year-old children’s thoughts on the matter, and together they created beautiful poetry in honor of this wonderful, life-giving planet. With their book, Dear Mr. President, What is CO2?, they will remind society of the neglected relationship humans have had with the Earth and how to positively transform the mentality of the world in hopes to preserve a healthy environment for many, many more eons to come. In addition, Crystal explains how the exploitation of natural resources is both dangerous and unnecessary. She shares small steps that can be taken in our own homes, schools, and communities that will make a big impact for the preservation of our Earth. Crystal also stresses the importance of getting everyone involved in a mission that is sure to benefit all on this planet. While families explore the insightful viewpoints concerning present issues, the authors hope that everyone will realize how important, but simple, the solutions are in counteracting the diversity that humanity has come to face. The realization of the facts provided pioneer the first step in starting to positively affect the outcome of the unnecessary exploitation that occurs by many corporations that we unintentionally support.
