`You don't have to convince yourself, you already know! Either you were expecting to see who was with me today or you wanted it to happen to you!' He came forward and pushing his palms against the wall above her head on either side, he thrust his pelvis against her midriff. `Rubbish! Do not think you are so great, because you are not. She wasn't your wife and you were doing it behind her husband's back.' However, excitement made her breathe faster and fiercer. As her breasts rose and fell, his eyes seemed mesmerized by them. `I'm no fool to do it knowingly with the husband watching. Besides what is the point of doing it in front of her husband, the poor bastard cannot father a child. I was just doing her a favour,' he said carelessly as if stung by her accusation. `And what if he finds out? What would that do to him? Have you ever thought about it?' Roopa was seething now. `Well to be honest I think it would do him good for one thing they would have a child and he would fulfil his role as a father. He doesn't need to know anything else, does he?' the mantravadi (man of god) wondered loudly. `That is, unless someone tells him?' Roopa egged him on; she could not understand the peculiarity of her behaviour. What was she hoping to gain? `That someone meaning you?' He asked pointing to her chest. His face came closer and despite her reluctance to study him, she did.
He had short hair growth as though it was shaven a couple of weeks ago. Long straight nose edging closer to her and his lips had a vulnerable look totally misplaced along with blue eyes making her wonder about his origin. He had fairer skin than most men did in this region. Maybe he was a mixed breed. How did he come to be here if that was the case? So deep in thought - she did not realise that he was already undoing her jogging bottoms and his hand reached deep inside her panties, his fingers playing with her sensitive moist flesh down below. A shudder escaped her. `What are you doing?' Roopa bent down to pull her pants up dislodging his hands. He let his dhoti (traditional men's wear made of thin linen wrap) fall intentionally to the ground. As Roopa tried to straighten up he held her head and against her better inclinations she was cajoled into giving him the pleasure that he so desperately wanted or so it seemed to her.
The mantravadi (man of god) never thought this was possible. He stopped her and led her into the middle of the cave. Was this what he was waiting for all his life? To perform the ultimate fusion in front of the Goddess Kali to a total stranger, who'd come voluntarily without expecting anything in return either from him or the Goddess Kali, this was humbling. Yesterday he had painted Sita Devi red like the Goddess but somehow she did not even come close to his ideal Devi image. Sita Devi was fair, but this woman was dark with beautiful facial features if painted red she would be the exact image that he was looking for; a red-hot Goddess like Kali. Up until now, the opportunity never arose. He had always performed in front of the gang and to the women who came asking for favours. He never dared to experiment until yesterday. This was new. Someone coming here looking for him was adventurous. `You do this for me and I can promise you one thing,' he said grabbing the face paint kept near the holy powder he scooped the wet paint, the cloth spread and contemplated his next move. `What is that, then?' Roopa checked with him. `You will have a baby without any problem?' He thought he saw a flicker of anxiety on her face. Roopa was stunned into speechlessness for a moment, then regaining her composure she asked him, `And why do you think I want a baby with you?' She became worried that he could read her mind so vividly. `It's written all over your face, you don't have to spell it out,' He undid her top and her bra flew open with one flick of his finger. Was this man a sex god or something? How could he undo her bra so deftly? Moreover, him being a holy man of God or was he? He could not be holy if he was doing what he was, not to mention what he had done yesterday with Sita Devi. Goddess Kali give me strength, Roopa prayed. `What is your name?' He asked suddenly. `Roopa,' caught unawares she could not lie. `Nice name,' he shook his head `And yours?' Roopa asked. `Gautam,' he said without hesitation.
Gautam looked her over and procrastinated. Then he suddenly twirled her round, `Roopa if you do as I say you will never go unrewarded by the Goddess.' `She will grant you all your wishes,' then he proceeded to paint her face red and painted her eyes black exactly as he wanted her to look like. Once her face matched up to his image of the Goddess Kali, he removed every stitch of her clothing, and his. He then dressed her in a soft red sari with black tint to match with the face paint and the eyes that he had outlined, his very own real life goddess

Guilt had made Roopa surrender to her will during that predicament.

About the Author
B. Sabby, born in Kerala, India, is youngest of her siblings. When she was one, her parents moved to Mumbai where her life began to take shape. Starting from humble beginnings, she saw the poverty that existed on Mumbai's streets and the plight of street beggars. Her parents had a great influence on young Sabby. Her mother taught her to read and write English surprisingly not her mother's first language. Educated in Mumbai she was keen on reading books, the pictorial stories of monkeys, saints, gods and goddesses sowing an early seed into Sabby, she attributes this to her dads encouragement.
Spending her summers among the beautiful coconut trees and the lush green paddy fields, the natural ponds and the sands of her native Kerala had an inimitable effect on Sabby in her childhood along with genuine people of Kerala brought about the feeling of coming home. It was there in the wide-open spaces that she felt free to open her mind about her surrounds and the first time she felt the need pick up the pen, to write.
She has published articles on line read by viewers and her inspiration comes from reading romances, adventures and murder mysteries. This is her first self-published novel; Based on the city of Mumbai where she lived for the first half of her life and Patna in Bihar. Her next novel is in the pipeline, it is set here in England again inspired by the ambience of the place she has lived since 1985. Her unique style of writing novels is refreshingly simple to read. She lives with her husband and children in Buckinghamshire. She divides her time between her day job and writing in her spare time.
