About the Book
“Pressed Steel!” is the story of an American company that produced outstanding armored vehicles for the U.S. Army during World War II and contributed greatly to the Allied victory. They were praised for their workmanship and earned the “E for Excellence” award from the U.S. Government. This book contains many previously unpublished photographs and is the interesting story of how Pressed Steel Car Company went from producing railroad cars to producing tanks for the Allies. The T29 Heavy Tank produced by Pressed Steel Car Company, 1947.
About the Author
Kenneth Nielsen is a retired U.S. Army Ordnance Corps officer. He holds a BA degree in Land Warfare from American Military University and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He is currently a Colonel in the California State Military Reserve and commands the California Center for Military History. Ken has had a lifelong interest in military history, especially World War II and researches and collects artifacts from that period. He lives in the California Gold Country foothills.
